I've played a lot of trick-taking games. Bridge is the best one. It has the most information available to all players, which leads to a much deeper strategy than Spades or Pinochle. It's fast to play a hand, so even a bad hand doesn't linger very long.
In an effort to get more people to play, I've written up a bidding cheat sheet. It's Standard American Yellow Card with a number of useful conventions. There's enough text on it that it should be printed on legal-size paper instead of letter.
Since 2022, I've started playing a bidding system known as Eastern Mysticism. I am still very much a beginner when it comes to the deep parts of this system, but it's an enjoyable journey. In 2023 I finally registered with the ACBL. I am still a Rookie.
