Puzzle Party

David builds Leggo My Eggsact Duplicate with Jacob describing

Leggo my Eggsact Duplicate

In this puzzle, two people sit back-to-back. One is given a glued-together set of Legos™, and the other is given the pieces to build it. Without looking at each others' progress, they must verbally communicate how to construct the model.

I first read about this puzzle in Eric's 2004 Puzzle Party, and stole it from there. His puzzle's scoring was based totally on timing, but we decided to go with an accuracy-based approach in a fixed time limit. No team completed the entire model, but Waiting for Orange Hat came quite close. Most members realized belatedly that they should have discussed terminology or build-planning before they got the models.

At first, I was against the idea of having positional scoring, thinking that it would be a nightmare. Liana persisted, though, and came up with a nicely elegant way of scoring it.
