Puzzle Party

Pyramid Power

Todd works on constructing pyramids

The teams must create as many pyramids as possible given a pile of plastic pieces.

Early in the puzzle creation process, Liana and I discovered Zome pieces. I ordered a grab-bag to see if we could use them for something, and then we couldn't think of anything. They were fascinating pieces, though, and we wanted to use them somewhere. Finally, I discovered their Pyramid Power Brainbuster, and from that I came up with the idea of having the players create multiple tetrahedra. We ordered a few more pieces so that the players had a decent inventory to work with, although I recognize in hindsight that we probably should have gotten more nodes.

Todd of The Cunning Linguists achieved the high score, with eleven distinct pyramids joined together. His Lego™ experience most likely helped extensively with the unfamiliar pieces.
